Compatibility

Already have some smart home devices at home? No problem! All Okos bundles and products are compatible with the three major ecosystems: Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomePod. If you already use one of these, our Smart Home Pro will be glad to integrate your new purchase with it.

Eligibility

Okos Smart Home services are available to Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority, which is 18 or 19, depending on your province.

Contract and Commitment

You can enjoy our services without any commitment by paying upfront by credit card.

Installation

We offer free in-home installation by our Smart Home Pros with all our bundles.

Once your order is completed, you will be prompted to book your installation via email. We can be at your door, ready to install your new Smart Home within 10 business days.

Helping you Stay Protected During COVID-19

For the continued safety of our customers and team members, we are constantly monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic across communities. As conditions continue to change, in-home professional installations may not be available in your community. Rest assured that in an event where an in-home professional installation is not available, our Smart Home Pro will go above and beyond to virtually support you while on site.

The Smart Home Pro will call to talk through your options before your appointment. Choose the one you feel most comfortable with. Note that if you request an in-home professional installation, the Smart Home Pro must first ask you some COVID-screening questions, to make sure it’s safe to enter your home.

Payment Methods

Okos offers two secure payment options: full payment of your order by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Amex) or in interest-free installments with PayBright. Learn more.

For security reasons and protection against fraud, credit card purchases will be accepted only if the billing name and address match the name that appears on the purchaser’s credit card and the address on the credit file.

In case of doubt, we reserve the right to confirm the validity of the transaction with the cardholder and cancel the order if necessary.

Cancellations and Changes

You can request to cancel an order for products purchased within 3 days at no charge. After this timeframe, but before your installation, a fee of $50 will be charged to cover our logistical costs incurred in preparing your order and transportation.

Prior to your order being shipped, you can modify an order for products purchased at no charge; however, we cannot guarantee that any additional products requested will be included if your order is already being processed. 

If for any reason a product cannot be installed at the time of installation, you may be asked to return the item for a full refund of the product in question. Learn more. 

Warranty

We’re proud of the quality of our products – that’s why we offer a 1-year extended limited warranty on every product we offer.
 
Our limited warranty covers all defects of a material, workmanship or product quality nature when the product is used and maintained in accordance with the instructions. We undertake to repair free of charge any defective product or, if a repair is not possible, to exchange it. 
 
However, the limited warranty does not cover normal wear and tear from product use, mechanical shocks or chemical influences on product surfaces. Learn more.

Privacy and Data Security

Security of data comes first in everything we do. We follow Canadian privacy laws and never sell your data. Keeping your personal information and consumption data is a priority for us. We’ve put in place rigorous administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your data.

Okos stores your data in Canada. However, third-party systems Okos interfaces with may host data on servers outside Canada, notably in the USA. Transit of your data through these systems depends on your choice of connected devices as well as the payment methods you’ve chosen for your transactions. All of the data we store is encrypted at rest and data transiting on all IP links is encrypted with TLS 1.2+. We use a variety of data protection mechanisms, including secure VPN links, IP whitelisting, rate limiting, certificate pinning, intrusion detection monitoring and many other techniques to ensure data security.

As your data moves between your devices, Okos services, and our data centers, it is protected by security technology like HTTPS and Transport Layer Security.
